One competition that brings the entire cricket community together to support their different national teams is the ODI World Cup. The top 10 teams compete against one another for a chance to win the prestigious trophy at the ODI World Cup, which is held every four years. The Australian team has won five World Championships, making them the most dominant team in the  history of the tournament.

One of the biggest partnerships in the history of the game came in the 2015 edition of the World Cup, when the West Indian legendary batters, Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels combined together to stitch together a partnership of 372 runs for the second wicket against a formidable Zimbabwe side.

It was a monumental match; it was the game in which Gayle smashed his first double century and was very well complimented Samuels. West Indies lost their first wicket at the score of 0 but it was from then onwards, Gayle and Samuels show won took full toll of Zimbabwe’s bowling. The southpaw went onto register 215 runs whereas the right-hand batter scored 133.

A memorable World Cup for Rahul Dravid saw him being on run feast throughout the tournament which helped India emerge as one of the favourites to win the tournament. In a similar, match between the Sri Lanka team, Dravid combined with Sourav Ganguly to stich a partnership of 318 runs. Dravid scored 145 runs while Ganguly scored 183 runs.

A World Cup which saw a lot of record being made and many being broken. The 2015 edition of the World Cup was one such mega event in which the records literally tumbled. One such instance was a record breaking partnership between Steven Smith and David Warner who went onto score 260 runs for the second wicket which is by far the highest second wicket partnership for Australian team. Warner scored a match winning 178 runs and Smith contributed with 95.
