After losing back-to-back T20I matches against the West Indies, India head coach Rahul Dravid has faced a lot of heat on social media. More so, because the national team has failed to win any major trophy during his tenure. The team failed to qualify for the finals of the Asia Cup 2022 and their performance was very poor in the T20 World Cup last year. Even in the World Test Championship final against Australia, India suffered a humiliating defeat and thus, Dravid has been on the receiving end.

Speaking about the same, former India cricketer Dodda Ganesh stated that the former cricketer has become a soft target of late. Notably, in the second T20I against West Indies, India skipper Hardik Pandya didn’t bring Yuzvendra Chahal back into the attack for his fourth over as India went on to lose the match by two wickets. Interestingly, Chahal picked up two wickets in the 16th over of the match, yet he wasn’t brought back and that has infuriated the fans.

Ganesh added saying that Rahul had no call whatsoever on the matter and thus asked everyone not to blame him for everything. He also mentioned that the former cricketer is facing so much because he doesn’t speak to the media much.

“Stop admonishing Rahul Dravid for every damn thing. He had no role in the captain juggling his bowlers today. Of late, Rahul has become a soft target only because he doesn’t say much in the media,” Ganesh tweeted on Monday.

Meanwhile, India will be aiming to make a strong return in the five-match series. Opener Shubman Gill is going through a rough phase at the moment and the cricketer will be aiming to get better. On the other hand, 20-year-old Tilak Varma has been exceptional so far. For India to do well, his contribution will be extremely important. Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav and Sanju Samson’s form is also a matter of concern at the moment.
