Top 3 highest individual scores by Pakistan players on T20I debut

Pakistan played their first ever T20I game in September 2006, on the tour of England and Scotland. In that game, the Asian side won by five wickets in 2.1 overs to spare. A year later, they played the final of the T20 World Cup, losing to arch-rivals, India by five runs. In 2009, Pakistan won their maiden title.

1. Haider Ali

The former Pakistan U19 skipper made his debut against England in 2020. It was one of those tours that helped international cricket reviving after COVID-19. The former Peshawar Zalmi player batted at number three and helped the team reach 190/4 alongside Mohammad Hafeez.

Haider scored 54 off 33 balls while Hafeez got 86 off 52 balls. These two innings helped the team win the game by five runs despite the home team trying their best.

2. Umar Amin

The left-hander made his T20I debut against the West Indies in 2013. In the game, the home team, West Indies batting first and amassed 152/7, thanks to Kieron Pollard (49) and Darren Sammy (30). Hafeez took two wickets for four runs in two overs. Apart from this, Zulfiqar Babar took three wickets.

In reply, the Green Brigade had a poor start as they lost three wickets for 45 runs. Amin, who made his debut, scored 47 off 34 balls but got out at the wrong time. Shahid Afridi (46) took the team over the line by two wickets.

3. Mohammad Hafeez

The former Pakistan skipper was one of those cricketers who made his debut in T20I alongside their national side. In Pakistan’s maiden T20I game, they played against England and won comfortably by five wickets.

Batting first, the home team amassed 144/7 with Abdul Razzaq taking three wickets. In reply, Pakistan had a decent start but didn’t have enough partnerships. Hafeez scored 46 runs.
