In a must-win encounter for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Women in the Women’s Premier League (WPL 2024), all eyes were on the clash against the defending champions, Mumbai Indians Women. Placed third in the league standings with three wins and four defeats, RCB needs a win to go up the table.

Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry produced a historic performance, becoming the first player in Women’s Premier League history to take a six-wicket haul. Perry’s sensational figures of 6/15 in 4 overs dismantled the defending champions Mumbai Indians.

The 32-year-old Perry led RCB’s charge with the new ball, dismissing the dangerous Hayley Matthews and Nat Sciver-Brunt cheaply. She even dismissed the other opener Sajeevan Sajana who was playing well at 30.
