IPL 2024: Rajasthan Royals’ predicted XI against Sunrisers Hyderabad

Rajasthan Royals battled their way to a win against Royal Challengers Bengaluru to make it to the second qualifying game of the Indian Premier League 2024. It has not been an easy journey so far for Sanju Samson’s team after they lost their form mid-season.

After losing four games and seeing their final game get rained out, the Royals had to play the first eliminator. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, Rovman Powell ensured that his team made it to the 2nd qualifying game against Sunrisers Hyderabad to make it to the finals.

The only time Rajasthan Royals took on Hyderabad was away from home where they lost by a single run. The fifties by Nitish Reddy and Travis Head ensured the home team scored 201 runs. RR responded with fifties by Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag before the home team bowlers did the job to eke out a win.

Here is the predicted Rajasthan Royals XI for the 2nd qualifier match of IPL 2024 against Sunrisers Hyderabad:

Openers: Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tom Kohler-Cadmore

In the last few games, the form of Yashasvi Jaiswal has seen an upward surge. The left-handed batter has been at his aggressive best against the pacer and brilliant against the spinners.

One area of concern for Rajasthan Royals is the form of Tom Kohler-Cadmore who hasn’t been able to show what he can truly do with the bat. Royals will want the England batter to come good especially with the tournament being at its critical juncture.

Middle-order: Sanju Samson, Dhruv Jurel, and Shimron Hetmyer

Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson would have been unhappy with the way he was dismissed in the game against RCB. The 29-year-old knows he is just one knock away from the final and two more huge scores away from lifting the 2nd ever title for the Royals.

Dhruv Jurel was looking good with the bat during his brief stint at the crease before he was run out. The youngster knows he is a crucial part of the Royals with the bat against SRH on Friday. One batter who will relish the big game is none other than Shimron Hetmyer who changed the course of the game with the bat against RCB and played a match-winning knock.

All-Rounders: Riyan Parag, Rovman Powell, and Ravichandran Ashwin

Riyan Parag has turned out to be one of the biggest trump cards for the Royals this season. The youngster has stepped up to the plate as seen during his crucial 36 in the game against RCB. Riyan Parag has impressed everyone with his attitude and his batting acumen.

Rovman Powell was the difference maker for RR and his knock against RCB showed what a cool customer he is under pressure. Ravichandran Ashwin’s return to form has been a huge thing for the RR and the veteran will want to end the season on a high in front of his home crowd in Chennai where he has played lots of cricket.

Bowlers: Trent Boult, Avesh Khan, and Yuzvendra Chahal

New Zealand seamer Trent Boult was at his best with the ball in the game against RCB where he gave away 16 runs from 4 overs. There is no better new ball bowler than Boult and his ability to prize out early wickets will be the key.

Avesh Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal will want to do better in the next game after their dismal show against RCB. The two bowlers were hit for lots of runs and this made sure that RCB ended their innings on a high. If Avesh and Chahal can curb the middle-order threat of SRH, the Royals will fancy their chances of making it to the finals.

Predicted Rajasthan Royals XI against SRH

Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Sanju Samson (C and WK), Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel, Shimron Hetmyer, Rovman Powell, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Avesh Khan, Yuzvendra Chahal.

Impact Player – Sandeep Sharma.
