Predicting India’s playing XI for their 4th Test match against Australia

India are ready to take on the mighty Australians in the Boxing Day Test match on December 26 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne. The game will be extremely intriguing for the fans to watch due to the hype the series has created for itself. After the last match was washed out, the series was levelled,1-1.

With this, the series can tilt towards any team based on their performance. Meanwhile, team India’s middle order batters are struggling to find their form while the bowlers aren’t helping much either except for Jasprit Bumrah. India’s WTC 2025 qualification scenarios will depend entirely on their performance in the last two games.

Here’s the predicted XI of India against Australia:

Top Order:

Top Order

India’s top order consists of KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shubman Gill. These three players have scored in most of the games, helping India get to a great start. Jaiswal is yet to shine after a wonderful century in the first game but Rahul and Gill have been consistent. The same enthusiasm and form will be needed from them in the upcoming games as well to

help India get victory over the Australians.

Middle Order

Middle Order

Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja form the middle order of the Indian team. The players are prolific batters and have the potential to score huge innings in red-ball cricket. However, Pant and Rohit haven’t played a crucial knock yet. Meanwhile, Kohli last scored a century in the first game and was a failure in the second and third.

However, Jadeja’s performance was great in the last match.

Bowlers

Bowlers

Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep and Nitish Kumar Reddy are the main bowlers of the team. However, none of the bowlers have done well in crunch situations which worked in favour of Australia in the second Test match. Even in the first innings of the third game, India’s bowling was below par. In order to win the game, the bowlers will have to

step up as much as the batters. The last two games will be crucial for the players.
