Champions Trophy 2025: Predicting England’s Playing XI for their clash against South Africa

South Africa will clash against England in the upcoming game in the Champions Trophy 2025. While England are out of the tournament, South Africa are almost through to the semi-finals. They are just a win away from qualifying officially. Their win against Afghanistan with a huge margin helped them qualify for the semi-finals.

The game between Australia and Afghanistan was washed out, helping the Men in Yellow to advance to the semi-finals. South Africa just have to win the game to qualify and stay at the top position since their NRR is quite good.

Here is the predicted XI of England ahead of clash against South Africa:

Top Order:

Phil Salt, Ben Duckett, and Jamie Smith

Phil Salt, Ben Duckett, and Jamie Smith are the top order batters for England. They will be looking forward to giving that start, which is important in the last game. Since England havent won a single game yet, they would surely want to win this game. Except for Ben Duckett, the other two batters have failed to perform.

Middle Order:

Joe Root, Harry Brook, Jos Buttler (C), and Liam Livingstone

Joe Root, Harry Brook, Jos Buttler (C), and Liam Livingstone are the middle-order batters. This is the last game for Buttler as the captain since he stepped down from the position after the tournament. The other batters haven’t done anything exceptional yet, so they’ll have to step up and give a solid farewell to their captain with a win in the last game.

Bowlers:

Jamie Overton, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, and Saqib Mahmood

Jamie Overton, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, and Saqib Mahmood are the bowlers of England. The bowling attack was the worst part of the team because of their performance. It’s high time they step up and play well in the upcoming game against South Africa.

England’s squad:

Phil Salt, Ben Duckett, Jamie Smith (wk), Joe Root, Harry Brook, Jos Buttler (C), Liam Livingstone, Jamie Overton, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, Saqib Mahmood
