As time goes by, the graph of deterioration is more visible than improvement in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). In every event, there remains lamentation. Where the presence of foreign stars is relatively less. David Warner, AB de Villiers were seen hardly in BPL.

Now that crisis will be more strong. Because the Big Bash, International T20 League and SA T20 League will be held at the same time during the BPL which will be held in January 2023. As a result, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is using a different strategy to bring foreign cricketers to the BPL by overtaking those leagues with crores of money. Player registration has been relaxed.

BPL Governing Council Chairman Ismail Haider Mallick said in this regard, ”Many stars have signed contracts in the leagues scheduled at the same time. We also can’t change the time of BPL. So, I will not keep the registration procedure for foreigners. Anyone can come and play openly at any time. There are such thoughts. ”

Even though the franchises can take foreigners in the team as they wish, only four players can be played in the eleven. Mallick also said, ”We do not want to put any limitation in the case of foreign cricketers. Apart from IPL, many tournaments now overlap. So, it is very difficult to get foreign cricketers now. ”

Regarding the schedule, Mallik said, ”Actually, as the commitments of the national team are, it is not possible to postpone it. Next year and the year after that we will have to suffer the same situation. From then on there will be no more problems.”

BCB has already admitted that the standard of BPL has gone down. In the beginning, BPL was claimed after IPL in terms of quality, but with time, the quality of BPL has decreased There are various controversies in the BPL including not paying players properly. It remains to be seen whether the upcoming BPLs will be controversy-free.
