Delhi Capitals Women were boosted with the return of Marizanne Kapp and Jess Jonassen during Match 4 of the 2025 edition of the Women’s Premier League against Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.

Smriti Mandhana called correctly, winning the toss and opting to bowl first. She elaborated on her decision to bowl first and noted the singular change made to the XI.

“Dew has been a factor and the wicket has played well after 7-8 overs. We have to play well, either way. [Last match] Kanika coming in bowled brilliantly well and she showed intent with the bat as well. We have had two good practice sessions. Important to start really well. One change, Ekta [Bisht] comes in for Prema [Rawat],” stated Smriti during the toss.

Kapp and Jonassen coming back after fully recovering meant that English batting all-rounder, Alice Capsey, was benched along with U19 Women’s World Cup-winning skipper and the star player of the last match, Niki Prasad. The decision was conveyed by DC-W skipper, Meg Lanning.

“We would have liked to bowl as well. Excited to get back out there. Full squad to pick from today. [Marizanne] Kapp and Jess Jonassen come back in. [Alice] Capsey and Niki [Prasad] miss out,” mentioned Lanning.

Capsey registered 1/25 in two overs in addition to an 18-ball 16-run knock against Mumbai Indians Women in her side’s season-opener. And, notably, Prasad played a match-winning 35 off 33 balls.
