Deep returned to claim the final wicket, sealing his maiden five-wicket haul in red-ball cricket and finishing with match figures of 10 wickets, becoming only the second Indian to achieve a 10-wicket haul in a Test in England, after Chetan Sharma (10/188), also at Edgbaston in 1986.

Shubman Gill, who led India with the bat, was named Player of the Match for his exceptional knocks, 269 in the first innings and 161 in the second. With the series now level at 1-1, the third Test will take place at Lord’s, beginning July 10.
