[WATCH] Mohammed Shami takes two-in-two in LSG vs RR, puts strong case forward for international comeback

Star pace bowler from Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Mohammed Shami, had Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel at his toes with a sensational bowling spell during Match 32 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. LSG had opted to bowl first against RR on a tricky surface at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium for the all-important contest on Wednesday, April 22.

Knowing RR opener Yashasvi Jaiswal’s troubles against the short ball, Shami delivered a throttling bouncer at the left-handed batter. Jaiswal found a faint edge on the ball as the captain-cum-wicketkeeper completed a mind-boggling jumping catch behind the wickets to hand his team their first breakthrough in the match. Jaiswal had already smashed four boundaries in his innings, but Shami put an end to the early onslaught.

It did not take long for Shami to strike with his second of the evening, as a fourth-stump delivery to Dhruv Jurel found a thick edge, as the ace pacer delivered a ball which RR’s No. 3 failed to let go. Jurel’s edge flew straight behind the wickets and carried to Pant once again, who completed a rather simpler catch this time round. Shami was on a hat-trick following the dismissal, but Riyan Parag managed to tackle him.
