India’s standby ODI skipper KL Rahul was visibly frustrated at Prasidh Krishna during the second ODI of the three-match series between India and South Africa. Despite picking up a couple of wickets, Prasidh ended up as the most expensive bowler across both sides as India lost the high-scoring contest by four wickets in Raipur.

The conversation was caught on the stump mic while Prasidh was bowling to Tony de Zorzi in the second innings. Rahul, who is usually calm on the field, was unhappy with Prasidh’s short-ball tactics despite being asked not told to do so in a chat between the two a while back.

Prasidh, nin tale odsbeda. Helid haaku. Helidini en haakbeku anta, adanna haaku (Prasidh, don’t use your brain. Do as you are told. I have told you what to bowl, do that,” Rahul could be heard telling Prasidh.

In turn, Prasidh asked Rahul, “Taalege haakla (Should I bowl at his head?)”. Rahul responded with, “Taalegela beda eega. Prasidh heli bandidini. Taalege haaktidiyalla (No need of bowling at his head. Prasidh, I just told you not do so and you are doing the same)”.

India failed to defend 359 as the series to get levelled. Prasidh, who had conceded 48 runs in 7.2 overs for a wicket in the series-opening clash in Ranchi, conceded 85 in 8.2 overs in the second ODI.

The Men in Blue will now take on the Proteas in the third and final ODI of the 50-over leg at the ACA-VDCA Stadium on Saturday, December 6. The ODI series will be followed by five T20Is betweenDecember 9 to 19.
