One of the two new teams announced before the start of the 2022 IPL season was the Gujarat Titans. For around US$750 million, or Rs 5625 crore, CVC Capital Partners won the franchise auction. Prior to the 2022 auction, they picked Shubman Gill, Rashid Khan, and Hardik Pandya.
Titans became only the second team after Rajasthan Royals to win the title in their first season. In 2023, the Titans looked the best team on show, with Mohammed Shami and Rashid Khan taking bagful of wickets and opener Shubman Gill peaking in a blaze of batting form towards the pointy end. But MS Dhoni’s CSK crew bested them twice in the final three matches to snatch the title from the Titans’ grasp.
Coming this third season, Gujarat Titans would be hoping to recreate the magic they have had in the last two seasons.

3. Shubman Gill

After Hardik Pandya was traded off to Mumbai Indians, Shubman Gill was named captain of the Titans. He was in blazing-hot form last season and amassed a record 890 runs off 17 innings. He was also the leading run scorer and hence the winner of the Orange Cap last season.
With the added responsibility of captaincy now, he would certainly be under more pressure but the class player that he is, doing well under pressure is what would be expected from the batting sensation. He is expected to have another great season in 2024.

2. Kane Williamson

It was unfortunate in 2023 that Kane Williamson got injured in the very first match for his team while trying to save a boundary. The New Zealand star did not get to play again in the season but the good news for the Titans is that he is in fine form and physically fit to resume his roles.
His consistency with the bat is what makes him the special batter he is, especially playing crucial knocks under tremendous pressure. Batting top of the order, Williamson knows how to play anchor innings as well as play explosively according to the needs of the situation.

1. Sai Sudharsan

Sudharsan had a brilliant season with the bat alongside Shubman Gill in 2023 becoming one of the many reasons for the Titan’s success. Playing in the finals, he played a superb knock of 96 runs off just 47 balls which helped Titans post a huge total of 214 runs on the board.
He had a fantastic season scoring 362 runs in just eight games with an average of 51.71 and at a healthy strike rate of 141. He has been in brilliant form ever since and went on to debut for the Indian team as well where he had a great run too. Although still young, he seems like a player who belongs to this level and is expected to do well this season too.
