Top three most successful cricketing brothers of all time

Over the years, a lot of siblings have represented their countries. From the 1950s to the 2010s, a lot of brothers have played at the highest level. They earned their places in the team after doing the hard yards and have done well at the highest level. Unlike the family business or politics (in the Indian context), these players were given a place in the side.

There are at least 11 sets of brothers that represented their nations. However, we have filtered out the top three that have had distinguished careers. They have played for their nations for a long time and have some great numbers to go their way as well.

They represented Australia at pretty much the same time and were the first to do so. Notably, Steve led the Australian side to the 1999 ODI World Cup win. On the other hand, Mark never led the national side. However, they both were part of the 1999 WC win.

Talking about Steve’s captaincy, he has a win percentage of 72 in Tests. The legendary Middle-order batsman has 18,500 runs and 35 centuries to his name in his 493 international appearances. On the other hand, Mark has 16,529 international runs and 38 centuries to his name. Mark was a better ODI batsman than Steve and has 8,500 international runs to his name.

Just like the Waught brother, Andy and Grant Flower played for their country at the same. While playing for Zimbabwe, both batters combined for 21,608 runs for their nation and were the finest batsmen Zimbabwe has ever produced.

Andy led the side from 1993 till 2000. On the other hand, Grant made his debut in 1992. The latter is the first-ever batsman to carry his bat right through the completed innings of an ODI and also the only one to do so in a winning cause.

Also, elder brother, Yusuf was part of the 2011 World Cup-winning side. He was also a handy part-time off-spinner and has picked about 50 wickets. On the other hand, Irfan has scored almost 2,700 international runs and picked up 310 international wickets
