Indian ODI vice-captain Shreyas Iyer injured his spleen and was rushed to the hospital during the third ODI in Sydney during India’s three-match series Down Under. However, the middle-order batter has now recovered significantly, and an image of his first public appearance after the injury has gone viral online.
Iyer sustained the injury in the final ODI of the series while attempting to catch Alex Carey’s shot, running backward toward the third man boundary. The mishap caused internal bleeding, leading to his hospitalisation. After nearly 10 days of recovery, Iyer appears to be doing much better, and a recent photo of him with a fan has been trending on social media. Fans are thrilled to see him on the mend and eagerly await his return to the field.
