Reports: Suresh Raina set to feature in Lanka Premier League 2023 player auction

Former Indian international and Chennai Super Kings batting icon Suresh Raina is all set to entertain the Sri Lankan crowd in the upcoming edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL). The southpaw is reportedly one of the players set to go under the hammer during LPL’s first-ever player auction.

The former Indian middle-order batter, who is one of the most prolific run-scorers in IPL history, reportedly signed up for the fourth edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) auction at a base price of USD 50,000. He features in the list of international and domestic cricketers, released by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), set to go under the hammer on June 14.

Raina, 36, was last seen in action in the Legends League Cricket after announcing his retirement from all forms of cricket in September 2022. One of the integral parts of CSK’s four title wins, Raina will join former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan as one of the few renowned Indian cricketers to have played in the league.

He was the first Indian cricketer to have scored a century across all three formats of the game and played an important role in India’s 2011 World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy triumphs.
