The much-awaited schedule of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine was announced on Friday, January 12 by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Defending Champions Lahore Qalandars will take on Islamabad United in the curtain-raiser of the tournament on February 17 at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore while the final will be played on March 18 at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.

The T20 extravaganza will be played across four cities namely Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi. A total of 34 matches will be played in the tournament across 30 days out of which 11 will be hosted by Karachi including the Qualifier, two Eliminators and the final. Gaddafi Stadium and Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will host nine matches each, on the other hand, Multan will host five matches.

The highly anticipated game between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings will be played on 24 February and 9 March respectively. Meanwhile, all of the four play offs games will be played in Karachi.

While announcing the schedule, PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf stated that the tournament will be hosted in four cities to bring the best of T20 Cricket throughout the country.

“We are thrilled to announce that the HBL Pakistan Super League’s ninth edition is set to kick off on February 17, showcasing the best of T20 cricket in four cities across Pakistan. The decision to host the marquee event across these cities is a testament to our commitment to bring top-notch cricket to fans across the country. We believe that hosting matches in these venues not only adds to the excitement for fans but also promotes cricket at the grassroots level,” said Zaka Ashraf in a statement.

“As we gear up for this spectacular event, we look forward to witnessing thrilling action and creating unforgettable moments for cricket enthusiasts worldwide,” he added.
