New Zealand (NZ) and South Africa (SA) will clash in the 32nd match of the ongoing Cricket World Cup 2023 on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune
New Zealand come into the contest after a disappointing loss to Australia in their previous match. Despite restricting Australia to 388/10, thanks to impressive bowling performances from Glenn Phillips, Trent Boult, and Mitchell Santner, New Zealand were unable to chase down the target, falling short by five runs. Rachin Ravindra scored a century (116), and Daryl Mitchell and James Neesham also made significant contributions with the bat, but it was not enough to prevent New Zealand from suffering their second defeat of the tournament. New Zealand has won four of their six matches played so far and is currently placed third in the points table with a net run rate of 1.232.
South Africa, on the other hand, come into the contest on a high after their thrilling one-wicket victory over Pakistan in their previous match. The Proteas bowled first and restricted Pakistan to 270/10, with Tabraiz Shamsi taking four wickets and Marco Jansen taking three wickets.
In the chase, Aiden Markram scored 91 and David Miller scored 29 to steer South Africa to a narrow victory. The Proteas will be hoping to continue their winning momentum against New Zealand and strengthen their position at the top of the points table. South Africa has won five of their six matches played so far and is currently second in the points table with a net run rate of 2.032.
