IPL 2026: SRH vs PBKS, Match 49: Stats Review of player records and achieved milestones

The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) returned to winning ways following a convincing 33-run win over fellow playoff candidates Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Match 49 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Wednesday, May 6.

SRH batted first and registered 235 runs on the board, with healthy contributions up and down the batting order. They received a great start thanks to their openers, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma. Ishan Kishan hit 55 while Heinrich Klaasen top-scored with 69 to make sure they surpassed the 220-run mark. Nitish Kumar Reddy provided the finishing touch, scoring 29 at a strike-rate of 223.08.

In reply, PBKS had the worst possible start, losing Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimran Singh and Shreyas Iyer all within the powerplay. Australia’s Cooper Connolly scored a magnificent 107 not out, his first in his T20 career, but was, for the most part, their lone warrior, not receiving any support from any other PBKS batter.

As is the case with all IPL matches this season, SRH vs PBKS also saw a bunch of team records and personal milestones be achieved. However, not all records achieved are positive in nature, with PBKS spinner Yuzvendra Chahal finding his name against an unwanted record in this year’s tournament.

Here are the most important stats and milestones from Match 49:

  • Nitish Kumar Reddy: Played in his 50th T20 game
  • Travis Head: Reached 1,500 runs in his IPL career
  • Sunrisers Hyderabad: Second-highest total for SRH vs PBKS in IPL (235)
  • Sunrisers Hyderabad: Joint-most 200+ totals against an opponent in IPL (8)
  • Sunrisers Hyderabad: Most wins against an opponent at a venue in the IPL (10 vs PBKS in Hyderabad)
  • Sunrisers Hyderabad: Unbeaten in IPL after scoring 220+ runs (11 wins from 11 games)
  • Yuzvendra Chahal: Most dropped catches of a bowler’s bowling this season (6)
  • Cooper Connolly: Scored his maiden hundred in his T20 career
  • Cooper Connolly: Youngest overseas batter to score a century in IPL (22y 257d)
