At Delhi in match 43 of IPL 2024, Delhi Capitals hosted Mumbai Indians and the IPL bore witness to another run-fest.

MI welcomed the Capitals to bat first, and it was a tsunami of runs. DC’s new revelation Jake Fraser-McGurk (84 off 27) went hitting at the ball in the same way that he has been all season. Fraser-McGurk was dismissed shortly after the powerplay, but Delhi Capitals kept the momentum running with Shai Hope (41 off 17) and Tristan Stubbs (48* off 25) adding to the carnage as DC put up 257/4.

Mumbai Indians did not get off to an ideal start and lost three wickets in the powerplay when skipper Hardik Pandya (46 off 24) joined Tilak Varma (63 off 32). Even after Pandya’s departure, Tim David (37 off 17) kept Varma company and kept the scorecard ticking. Mohammad Nabi, Piyush Chawla and Luke Wood hit one six each and lent handsome support to Varma who was at the crease until the last over began, but was run out off the first ball of the 20th over. Mukesh Kumar who bowled that over managed to keep his nerves and the Capitals won by 10 runs. DC’s Impact Player Rasikh Salam(3 for 34) gave an excellent bowling performance defending such a high total.
