IPL 2023: Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan pick team of the tournament

The IPL 2023 came to a fitting end as Chennai Super Kings beat Gujarat Titans by five wickets in the final to clinch their fifth IPL title. The edition saw several breathtaking performances from numerous big names while many youngsters also impressed with their performances throughout the season. Following the end of the tournament, many experts presented their best playing XI of the tournament.

Former India cricketers Yusuf Pathan and Irfan Pathan also joined the bandwagon and presented their respective best playing XI of the IPL 2023. Yusuf picked emerging player of the season Yashasvi Jaiswal (625 runs) as his opener while Orange Cap holder Shubman Gill (890 runs) as his opening partner. Star RCB batter Virat Kohli (639 runs) holds the third spot while swashbuckling Suryakumar Yadav holds the fourth spot.

Young sensation Rinku Singh holds the fifth spot and Nicholas Pooran is the designated wicketkeeper. Spin twins Ravindra Jadeja and Rashid Khan are the two spinners in the team, who also play the role of all-rounders and can provide the much-needed firepower lower down the order.

The seamers comprise Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami and Mohit Sharma while Matheesha Pathirana is the impact player.

Meanwhile, there were a few changes in Yusuf’s younger brother Irfan’s team as he picked Faf du Plessis as the opener instead of Yashasvi Jaiswal. Irfan also picked Henrich Klaasen instead of Nicholas Pooran as his team’s designated wicket-keeper.

The IPL 2023 turned out to be an exhilarating affair as it saw the most sixes being hit in a single season of the tournament (1124). The upcoming seasons are expected to increase the excitement among the fans ten folds and fans would hope for another action-packed season next year.
