The sudden death of renowned Assamese and Bollywood singer Zubeen Garg has witnessed tributes pouring in from all corners. Among those affected is Indian cricketer Riyan Parag, who shared an emotional message mourning the loss of the legendary singer.

The 52-year-old singer passed away on September 19 after a tragic scuba diving accident in Singapore. The celebrated singer was in the island nation to perform at the North East Festival. According to reports, Garg initially wore a life jacket but removed it soon after, claiming discomfort. Moments later, he was found floating in the sea. Despite immediate rescue efforts and being rushed to Singapore General Hospital, doctors could not save him.

His untimely demise has put a massive void in the music industry, particularly in Assam, where he was seen as a cultural icon. Thousands of fans gathered in Guwahati to pay their last respects when his mortal remains arrived. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed their condolences and praised Garg’s contribution to Indian music.
