‘Ab toh maar hi nahi rahe hai’ – Jasprit Bumrah’s hilarious sledge at England batters during 3rd Test

'Ab toh maar hi nahi rahe hai' - Jasprit Bumrah’s hilarious sledge at England batters during 3rd Test

Ace India speedster Jasprit Bumrah politely poked fun at the English batters on Day 4 of the third Test at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot on Sunday, February 18. After setting a mammoth 557-run target, Indian bowlers utterly dominated England and won the third Test by 434 runs, taking a 2-1 lead in the five-game series.

Bumrah took a wicket in each of the two innings of the third Test and concluded with figures of 2/72. But the English batters were playing him conservatively, particularly in the final innings after being 28/3. The 30-year-old was heard taunting the English batters while Joe Root was at the crease. Interestingly, he has been bothering Root throughout the ongoing series.

“Ab toh maar hi nahi rahe hai (They are not attacking at all),” Bumrah was heard saying in a video surfaced on social media.

Bumrah tops list of leading wicket-takers in ongoing series versus England

Jasprit Bumrah has so far taken two four-fers and two six-fers and bowled brilliantly after making his Test cricket comeback after a year-long hiatus. With 17 wickets at an average of 13.65, including a best of 6/45 in the second Test in Visakhapatnam, Jasprit Bumrah is currently the leading wicket-taker in the ongoing series against the Ben Stokes-led England. The 30-year-old played a pivotal role in India’s 106-run win in the second Test, picking up nine wickets across two innings, and was subsequently named the Player of the Match.

Among Test players who have taken over 150 wickets and played cricket since World War I, Bumrah has the highest average. According to the ICC Test bowler rankings, the right-arm fast bowler is currently the best bowler in the longest format of the game. India are now hoping to have him fully fit for the much-awaited ICC T20 World Cup 2024, which will be contested in the United States of America and the West Indies.
