Durban Super Giants (DSG) will face Paarl Royals (PR) in the 22nd match of the SA20 2024 on Sunday (January 28) at the Kingsmead in Durban. Super Giants have won five out of seven matches and are placed first in the points tally. The Royals have the same number of wins to their name and are placed in second position.

This is the second time both these teams will face each other this year. Super Giants won the toss in their previous against the Royals and elected to bat. They posted a total of 190 runs for the loss of three wickets in 20 overs. JJ Smuts and Quinton de Kock made a half-century each. Smuts made 52 runs off 39 deliveries and de Kock scored 83 runs off 51 deliveries. Bjorn Fortuin, Lungi Ngidi, and Obed McCoy took one wicket each.

The Royals didn’t have a great start and lost their first wicket for 34 runs. Jos Buttler played a fine knock of 45 runs off 36 deliveries. However, no other batter managed to score more than 20 runs for the Royals. They were bundled out for 133 runs in 19.3 overs and lost the match by 57 runs. Marcus Stoinis was the pick of the bowlers for the Super Giants and took three wickets for 24 runs in four overs. Reece Topley and Keshav Maharaj picked two wickets each. De Kock won the Player of the Match award for his batting performance.
