Top 3 player battles to watch out for in RR vs GT clash

Rajasthan Royals will host Gujarat Titans in a key home encounter in what will be the 47th Match in IPL 2025. At this stage of the tournament, the Royals are all but out of the campaign as they find themselves in the ninth spot just ahead of Chennai Super Kings on run-rate. In their last match, RR managed to lose yet another game while chasing despite being in a commanding position for most of the game. 

Gujarat Titans, on the other hand, are top of the table with 12 points from eight games. Shubman Gill’s side just needs to win a couple more games out of the six matches left to make it to the playoffs. So far this season, the Titans have been the team to bet on as they have amazing batters and a tremendous bowling attack. It will also be an emotional homecoming for Jos Buttler, who spent most of his IPL career with RR.

3- Mohammed Siraj vs Yashasvi Jaiswal 

Veteran Indian seamer Mohammed Siraj has found a new lease of life since his move to the Titans and has become a lethal bowler. Siraj has been bowling well with the new ball but has also become a very dangerous customer in the backend of the innings. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 49 off 19 balls in the last game vs RCB to put his team on course for a win. The left-handed batter will be keen to face off against Siraj, considering the latter has a good record against left-handed batters. 

2- Wanindu Hasaranga vs Jos Buttler 

Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga has been RR’s best bowler so far this campaign. Hasaranga bowled well in the last game against RCB and picked up one wicket. Jos Buttler has traditionally struggled against spinners, and Hasaranga will want to exploit this. Buttler, who is an attacking batter, tends to be caught on the backfoot when playing against the wrist spinners. This battle could very well determine the outcome of the game on Monday night. 

1- Shubman Gill vs Jofra Archer

The biggest battle to watch out for at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium will be between Shubman Gill and Jofra Archer. Neither player is known to take a backwards step when it comes to competition. Gill has always been known to be a good player against the Pacers with his pull shot and ability to hit over the top. Archer, on the other hand, has found his pace and the hostility that he was known for before his injury. The English pacer has troubled the best batters in the business and hasn’t been shy of dishing out the chin music.
