RCB vs SRH – IPL 2024 – 38 Sixes 

It was the 30th match of the ongoing IPL 2024; RCB and SRH took on each other at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on April 15, 2024. RCB won the toss and asked the visitors to bat first. Batting first, SRH came up with a swashbuckling approach while smashing the RCB bowlers in all corners of the ground. 

SRH went on to post a mammoth total of 287 runs for the loss of 3 wickets, the highest-ever team total in the history of T20 cricket. SRH smashed a total of 22 sixes in the first innings. Later, the RCB also managed to hit back at SRH with the same intensity during the run-chase. The hosts smashed 16 sixes and scored 262 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the entire 20 overs. The match recorded 38 sixes, which ranks third in this list of top 3 

RCB vs MI – IPL 2024 – 38 Sixes 

Before the ‘287’ onslaught against RCB in Bengaluru, SRH registered another highest total in the history of IPL at their home ground in Hyderabad in the 8th match of the tournament against Mumbai Indians. SRH batted first and scored 277 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. The hosts also smashed 18 sixes in the first sixes. 

Later in the second innings, Mumbai Indians showed amazing intent while chasing the target as they scored 246 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs and fell only 32 runs short of the target. However, MI smashed 20 sixes in the second innings, 2 more than the SRH’s 18 sixes in the first sixes. So, this match recorded 38 sixes, the second in the list of the top 3 highest number of sixes in a single match. 

KKR vs PBKS – IPL 2024 – 42 Sixes 

Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings knocked out the most iconic ever match in the history of the Indian Premier League. It was the 42nd match of the tournament played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on April 26, 2024. KKR batted first and posted a big total of 261 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the first innings, hitting 18 sixes. 

But the history was yet to be written in the second innings when Punjab Kings scripted the history with the highest successful run-chase in the entire history of the T20 cricket and the Indian Premier League as well. PBKS scored 262 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 18.4 overs, winning the match by 8 wickets. The visitors also smashed 24 sixes in the second innings, most number of sixes by a team in an innings in the history of IPL since 2008.
