In the 31st game of the season Kolkata Knight Riders hosted Rajasthan Royals at the Eden Gardens. Batting first Hosts put up a show as they scored 223/6 in 20 overs. Opener Sunil Narine smashed a magnificent century as he scored 109 runs off 56 balls. He along with Angkrish Raghuvanshi helped KKR to post a competitive total.

In response, Rajasthan Royals had a really poor start as they lost six wickets for just 121 runs. The spin duo of Varun Chakravarthy and Narine troubled the visitors. In the 9th game of the season, Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) hosted Rajasthan Royals at the batting paradise in Sharjah. Batting first hosts put up a show with the bat as skipper KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal added 183 runs for the first wicket.

Agarwal in his innings scored 106 runs off 50 balls while Rahul smashed 69 runs off 54 balls and helped KXIP to post 223/2 in 20 overs. In response, RR had a poor start losing Buttler for a single-digit score. However, the next three batters i.e. Steve Smith (50 off 27), Sanju Samson (85 off 42) and Rahul Tewatia (53 off 39) helped RR to win the game with three balls to spare.

The biggest nightmare for any bowler should be bowling at Eden Gardens in the ongoing Indian Premier League. While batting first host KKR scored another 250+ score as they posted 261/6 in 20 overs. Opener Phil Salt (75 off 37) along with Sunil Narine (71 off 32) stitched a 138-run partnership in just 10 overs and set the stage for a high-scoring affair.

In response Punjab Kings came unexpectedly as they launched an assault on the KKR bowling lineup. Prabhsimran Singh (54 off 20) and Jonny Bairstow (108 off 48) helped the visitors to match the required run rate. However, the real hero was uncapped Indian batter Shashank Singh who scored 68 runs off just 28 balls with the help of eight sixes and two boundaries. He finished the game with eight balls in the hand.
