The Hundred Men’s 2025: Predicting Birmingham Phoenix XI for match 14

Northern Superchargers and Birmingham Phoenix will clash in the 14th match of The Hundred 2025 on August 15, 2025 at Headingley in Leeds.

Birmingham have won one game out of three thus far and find themselves at the penultimate position of the points table with four points and a net run rate of -1.074. After losing their first two matches, the Phoenix finally came good in their third game against the Oval Invincibles and will need to continue this good work.

Here is the predicted Birmingham Phoenix XI for match 14 of The Hundred Men’s 2025:

Top Order:

Will Smeed

Will Smeed has been doing his job as an opener with 65 runs in three games with one fifty and a strike rate of 151.16. He is giving them quick starts, along with Ben Duckett, who has been rather quiet with 27 runs in 30 balls in three games so far. Joe Clarke, meanwhile, has made up for that with 92 runs with a strike rate of 122.96 in three games.

Middle Order:

Liam Livingstone

But their biggest shining light has been captain Liam Livingstone, who has 120 runs with a best of 69* and a strike rate of 157.89. He has led from the front with the bat. The Phoenix middle order has struggled, with Jacob Bethell making 14 runs in three games and Dan Mousley making 31 in the same number of games. They need to buck up for the team’s good.

Lower Order:

Benny Howell

Louis Kimber’s maiden outing in The Hundred 2025 was nothing of note, but his T20 stats of 791 runs at a strike rate of 161.09 suggest otherwise. Benny Howell has done well in the limited opportunities, with 26 runs and five wickets to his name.

Bowlers:

Adam Milne

The New Zealand trio of Adam Milne, Tim Southee, and Trent Boult all have two wickets in three games, respectively. But they have yet to come good in a big way to give their teams a big win and boost to their net run rate.
