PSL 2025: Predicting Multan Sultans XI against Lahore Qalandars

PSL 2025 tournament is well past its halfway point of the season, and the race for the knockout stages has begun. Multan Sultans, who are bottom of the table, are set to take on Lahore Qalandars. It is a key game for Multan because one more loss could more or less spell and end to their hopes of making it to the playoffs.

In the last meeting between the two sides, Multan had beaten Lahore by 33 runs to win their first game of the tournament. In the very next game, Mohammad Rizwan and his side lost to defending champions Islamabad United by seven wickets. Currently, Multan has two points from five games, with their run-rate reading an abysmal -1.764.

Here is the likely Multan XI vs Lahore in the upcoming PSL 2025 game:

Top order

PSL 2025: Predicting Multan Sultans XI against Lahore Qalandars
Yasir Khan

Young batter Yasir Khan scored a key half-century in the last match against Lahore and followed it up with 29 against Islamabad. Yasir has shown attacking instincts with the bat since he was given a chance. Multan will hope that their young batter can repeat the feats of the previous game against Lahore once more. Skipper Mohammad Rizwan hasn’t had a great time with the bat or while leading the side. Rizwan has got good starts with the bat but hasn’t been able to capitalise so far and convert them into a big score.

Middle Order

PSL 2025: Predicting Multan Sultans XI against Lahore Qalandars
Usman Khan

Usman Khan is finally coming good with the bat and scored an impressive 61 in the last game against Islamabad. Usman Khan is a naturally attacking batter and will enjoy the batting-friendly conditions at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Kiwi all-rounder Michael Bracewell and veteran Pakistan batter Iftikhar Ahmad will play a key role with the bat in the middle-order. Both players can score runs at a quick pace and put pressure on the bowlers as well as roll their arm over and pick key wickets.

Lower-order

PSL 2025: Predicting Multan Sultans XI against Lahore Qalandars
Kamran Ghulam

Veteran batting duo Kamran Ghulam and Tayyab Tahir haven’t been impressive with the bat so far this season. Tayyab Tahir, in particular, hasn’t been showcasing the big-hitting talents that he is known for. Kamran Ghulam has been one of the most standout players for Pakistan in the last few months, but his form hasn’t been translated into the ongoing PSL. Chris Jordan will be yet another key player for Multan with the amount of experience the Englishman has in the T20 format. Jordan will be the key with the ball in the death overs and will also be expected to use his willow to score key runs for his side.

Tail enders

PSL 2025: Predicting Multan Sultans XI against Lahore Qalandars
Usama Mir

Ubaid Shah has been spoken about as one of the young pacers to watch out for in PSL 2025. Ubaid has been showing great skills with the ball and has been picking key wickets with the ball in the last few games. Joshua Little has played just two games and picked a single wicket. The Irish pacer, though, is very talented and is just one good spell away from getting back to form. Usama Mir has been a huge letdown for Multan with just four wickets from five games. Mir will be keen to turn his form around in the second half of the season.

Multan Sultans predicted playing XI vs Lahore Qalandars:

Yasir Khan, Mohammad Rizwan (C), Usman Khan (WK), Michael Bracewell, Iftikhar Ahmad, Chris Jordan, Kamran Ghulam, Tayyab Tahir, Usama Mir, Ubaid Shah, Josh Little.
