Predicting Texas Super Kings’ Playing XI for their clash against MI New York

Faf du Plessis and his Texas Super Kings side are set to take on the Mumbai Indians in New York for the second time this season. In the last meeting between the two sides earlier in the campaign, it was Texas that came out on top and won the game by three runs. Daryl Mitchell’s efforts with the bat and ball ensured that Texas could put one over Nicholas Pooran’s side.

Having started the season with three successive wins, Texas then lost their next two games to lose their place in the top half of the table. In the last game, Texas were able to beat LA Knight Riders by 52 runs to end their run of losses. Currently, TSK are third in the table and a win over MINY will give them their fifth win of the season.

Here is the likely XI for TSK vs MI NY

Top order- Faf du Plessis, Smit Patel

Faf du Plessis, Smit Patel

Former South African batter Faf du Plessis began MLC 2025 on a slow note with a couple of failures. This was followed by knocks of 100 and 69 in the next two matches to show that the veteran still has the much-needed runs in his blade. Smit Patel has so far played two games and scored 62 runs, and has been steady at the top of the order. TSK will be hoping the opening duo can do well in the huge game against MINY and lead the side to a win.

Middle Order – M Saiteja, M Stoinis, D Ferriera

Young batter Saiteja hasn’t made a great start to his MLC 2025 career. So far, the 21-year-old has managed to score just 119 runs from six games with a best of 38 and an average just under 20. Veteran star Marcus Stoinis has been another player who has found the going tough in the current season of MLC, with just 61 runs from four games and just two wickets with the ball. Donovan Ferriera, after a slow start, finally did well with the bat and ball in the last game vs LAKR to take home the player of the game award.

Lower-order- Shubham Ranjane, Calvin Savage, Akeal Hossein

Former Mumbai player Shubham Ranjane has scored 135 runs this season, which includes his brilliant 70 in the last game. Ranjane is also more than useful with the ball
