Despite being included in all of New Zealand’s nine matches, Daryl Mitchell never arrived at the T20 World Cup 2026. The Kiwi right-hander was nowhere near his best in the competition, with him failing to register even a single fifty plus score tells a story.

He could have been promoted up the order to have more impact with the bat. Mitchell is one of New Zealand’s best players against spin, especially in Indian conditions, so it was an opportunity missed from New Zealand’s side.
