Predicting Sri Lanka’s Playing XI for their first T20I against India 

The much-awaited Sri Lanka vs India series will start on July 27, with the first T20I being played at Palekele. The match will begin at 7 PM IST, a perfect time for the Indians. Top Order

Sri Lanka will not look to change their top order in the likes of Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, and Kamindu Mendis, who have performed in the T20 World Cup 2024. Against India, their mindset should be to attack the bowlers from the start, which will help them get a good score. 

Middle Order

The middle order will include players like Kushal Mendis, Dinesh Chandimal, skipper Charith Asalanka, and Avishka Fernando. They provide a solid balance to the team and experience as well. Whenever all the batters start playing well, the team gets to a suitable target or chases down the most difficult one. Also, the kind of experience some of the players bring in is commendable. 

Bowlers

The bowlers are Maheesh Theekshana, Mathisha Pathirana, Dasun Shanaka and Wanindu Hasaranga. Against India, they’ll require two spinners and two solid pacers to dismantle the team. All the players have played IPL and know the opponent batters really well. So it will be a plus point for them to play against them and lay the tactics which will favor them in the end.
