Predicted Playing XI of IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans in Eliminator of TNPL 2026 against Vida Kovai Kings

Predicted Playing XI of IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans in Eliminator of TNPL 2026 against Vida Kovai Kings

IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans will face Vida Kovai Kings in the Eliminator of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2026 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Monday, August 24. The high-pressure knockout clash is scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM IST, with the losing side’s campaign coming to an end.

The defending champions have endured an eventful league phase. Tiruppur finished among the playoff spots after collecting eight points, but their momentum took a hit in their final league fixture, when they suffered a 45-run defeat against SKM Salem Spartans.

Despite that setback, the Tamizhans remain one of the most experienced teams in the competition. They have several proven performers in their ranks, including captain Tushar Raheja, R Sai Kishore, T Natarajan, R Silambarasan, Pradosh Ranjan Paul and U Sasidev. Their squad also has considerable batting and bowling depth.

Here is the predicted playing XI of IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans for the Eliminator against Vida Kovai Kings:

1. Amit Sathvik

Amit Sathvik is expected to open the innings alongside Tushar Raheja.

The right-handed wicketkeeper-batter has been used prominently at the top of the order and can provide an aggressive start during the powerplay. His ability to attack pace makes him an important component of Tiruppur’s batting plans.

With the Eliminator carrying enormous pressure, Sathvik’s role will be to ensure that the defending champions do not lose early wickets while still maintaining a healthy scoring rate.

2. Tushar Raheja (c & wk)

Captain Tushar Raheja should continue to lead the side from the top of the order.

Raheja has been among Tiruppur’s most important batting performers in TNPL 2026. He has the ability to play aggressively while also taking responsibility for anchoring the innings when required.

His leadership will be equally important. After the disappointing defeat against Salem, Raheja will need to ensure that his team quickly puts that result behind them and focuses on the knockout challenge.

3. Pradosh Ranjan Paul

Pradosh Ranjan Paul is likely to occupy the No. 3 position and remains one of the key batting pillars of the Tamizhans.

He was the Player of the Match in Tiruppur’s four-wicket victory over Madurai Panthers on August 20, scoring an impressive 65 off 45 balls. His innings played a major role in helping the defending champions chase down 158 with 14 balls to spare.

Pradosh’s ability to build an innings while maintaining momentum makes him particularly valuable in a knockout game.

4. Uthirasamy Sasidev

Uthirasamy Sasidev should continue in the middle order.

The left-hander brings experience and can play the role of a stabiliser if Tiruppur lose early wickets. He also possesses enough power to accelerate during the latter stages of the innings.

Sasidev’s ability to rotate the strike against spin could be crucial at Chepauk, where batters may need to show patience before attempting high-risk strokes.

5. Mohamed Ali

Mohamed Ali is expected to retain his place as an all-rounder.

His presence gives Tiruppur additional batting depth while also providing Sai Kishore with another bowling option. In a knockout game, such versatility can be extremely useful.

Ali’s role could become especially important if Tiruppur lose several wickets early, as he can consolidate before launching an attack later in the innings.

6. M Mathivannan

M Mathivannan should feature as one of Tiruppur’s specialist bowling options.

The left-arm spinner has been among the team’s useful contributors during the season and can be particularly effective when the surface offers assistance to slower bowlers.

He made an impact against Salem, claiming 3/28, including the wickets of S Abishiek, Sunny Sandhu and S Harish Kumar.

Against Kovai’s strong middle order, Mathivannan’s ability to restrict the scoring and pick up crucial wickets could prove decisive.

7. S Mohan Prasath

S Mohan Prasath is likely to retain his place in the bowling attack.

The experienced bowler offers another spin option and can operate effectively during the middle overs. He also produced a key performance against Salem, dismissing Boopathi Vaishna Kumar during their 169-run innings.

At Chepauk, his variations could make him particularly difficult to attack.

8. R Silambarasan

R Silambarasan should continue as one of Tiruppur’s main seam-bowling options.

He has the ability to bowl hard lengths and use variations, making him useful across different phases of the innings. The Tamizhans will expect him to provide control during the powerplay and death overs.

Against Kovai’s aggressive top order, Silambarasan’s execution will be particularly important.

9. T Natarajan

T Natarajan remains one of the biggest strengths of the Tiruppur bowling attack.

The left-arm pacer brings considerable experience and is renowned for his yorkers, particularly during the death overs. His variations can also make him difficult to line up in the middle overs.

Natarajan claimed two wickets in Tiruppur’s recent victory over Madurai, underlining his importance to the bowling unit.

His battle against Kovai’s finishers could have a major bearing on the outcome.

10. Pranav Ragavendra

Pranav Ragavendra is likely to complete the bowling-heavy combination.

The bowling all-rounder provides Sai Kishore with additional flexibility and can contribute useful runs lower down the order. He also claimed the wicket of M Mohammed in the recent game against Salem.

His presence means Tiruppur have several options to rotate their bowlers depending on the match situation.

11. R Sai Kishore

R Sai Kishore could return to the XI for the knockout game, particularly given his importance to the defending champions.

The left-arm spinner is also one of the team’s most experienced leaders and was retained as part of the franchise’s core squad for 2026.

He was absent from the XI against Salem, but his ability to control the middle overs and his familiarity with high-pressure TNPL games make him a strong candidate to return for the Eliminator.
