Predicted Playing XI of Guyana Amazon Warriors in Match 15 of CPL 2026 against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons

Predicted Playing XI of Guyana Amazon Warriors in Match 15 of CPL 2026 against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons

Guyana Amazon Warriors will aim to continue their unbeaten start to the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026 when they face Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in Match 15 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua, on Sunday, August 23. The contest is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM local time, with the Warriors entering the game on the back of two impressive victories.

The Warriors began their campaign with a six-wicket win over Jamaica Kingsmen before defeating Saint Lucia Kings by seven wickets in their second outing. Their latest victory was particularly convincing, with Guyana chasing down 152 with 11 balls to spare.

Mohammad Nabi’s four-wicket haul against Jamaica and a fluent batting performance against Saint Lucia have given Imran Tahir’s side plenty of momentum. Given the success of their current combination, the Warriors are unlikely to make too many changes against the Falcons.

Here is the predicted playing XI of Guyana Amazon Warriors for Match 15 of CPL 2026 against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons.

1. Glenn Phillips

Glenn Phillips is likely to continue opening the innings after being given the responsibility at the top in both of Guyana’s matches so far.

The New Zealand all-rounder made an impact in the opening game against Jamaica, scoring 28 off 17 balls, including four fours and a six. He followed it up with a brisk 36 off 26 against Saint Lucia.

His aggressive approach allows Guyana to make maximum use of the powerplay.

2. Mavendra Dindyal

Mavendra Dindyal is expected to retain his place alongside Phillips.

The young Guyanese batter endured a first-ball dismissal against Jamaica but bounced back impressively against Saint Lucia. He scored a composed 50 off 51 balls, anchoring the chase before being stumped by Andries Gous.

His ability to bat through the innings gives Guyana stability alongside Phillips’ aggression.

3. Shai Hope (wk)

Shai Hope should continue at No. 3 and behind the stumps.

The West Indies white-ball star played a match-winning unbeaten 56 off 41 balls against Jamaica and followed it with 17 against Saint Lucia.

Hope’s ability to combine conventional strokeplay with controlled aggression makes him an important part of the Warriors’ top order.

4. Shimron Hetmyer

Shimron Hetmyer remains a key component of Guyana’s middle order.

The left-hander produced a devastating unbeaten 25 off just 11 balls against Saint Lucia, striking four fours and a six. His ability to accelerate rapidly makes him particularly dangerous once the field spreads.

Playing in familiar Caribbean conditions, Hetmyer could once again be Guyana’s finisher.

5. Quentin Sampson

Quentin Sampson should retain his place after playing useful cameos in both victories.

He scored an unbeaten 13 off four balls against Saint Lucia, including two sixes, to finish the chase in emphatic fashion.

Sampson offers Guyana another explosive option in the middle and lower order and can also contribute with the ball if required.

6. Mohammad Nabi

Mohammad Nabi is an automatic selection after his sensational performance in the opening game.

The Afghanistan veteran claimed 4/22 against Jamaica and also contributed a useful 19 with the bat.

His off-spin gives Tahir a reliable middle-over weapon, while his batting experience adds depth to the lineup.

7. Romario Shepherd

Romario Shepherd should continue as the team’s pace-bowling all-rounder.

He provides Guyana with genuine lower-order power and can bowl important overs during the middle and death phases. Against Saint Lucia, he claimed a wicket and played a role in keeping the opposition under pressure.

His ability to clear the boundary makes him an important finishing option.

8. Dwaine Pretorius

Dwaine Pretorius was the standout bowler in Guyana’s victory over Saint Lucia and should retain his place.

The South African all-rounder returned outstanding figures of 3/29 from four overs, dismissing Andries Gous, Kamil Pooran and Charith Asalanka.

His variations and experience in T20 cricket make him particularly useful in Antigua.

9. Khary Pierre

Khary Pierre is expected to continue as the specialist left-arm spinner.

He bowled an excellent spell against Saint Lucia, conceding only 21 runs from his four overs.

The spinner can build pressure during the middle overs and allow Tahir and Nabi to attack from the other end.

10. Shamar Joseph

Shamar Joseph should retain his place as one of Guyana’s principal pace options.

He impressed against Jamaica with figures of 2/22 and followed that up with another two wickets against Saint Lucia.

His raw pace and ability to extract bounce could make him a major threat against Antigua’s aggressive batters.

11. Imran Tahir (c)

Captain Imran Tahir is likely to complete the XI.

The veteran leg-spinner remains one of the Warriors’ most important wicket-taking options. He picked up a wicket against Saint Lucia and brings enormous T20 experience to a bowling attack already packed with variety.

His leadership will also be crucial against a Falcons side featuring Moeen Ali, Evin Lewis, Shadab Khan and Alzarri Joseph.

Guyana Amazon Warriors Predicted Playing XI

Glenn Phillips, Mavendra Dindyal, Shai Hope (wk), Shimron Hetmyer, Quentin Sampson, Mohammad Nabi, Romario Shepherd, Dwaine Pretorius, Khary Pierre, Shamar Joseph, Imran Tahir (c)
