OTD | One of England's finest wicketkeeper-batters Jonny Bairstow was born today

England cricket has produced some amazing cricketers throughout the years and today we are going to celebrate one of the finest modern cricketers they have produced in Jonny Bairstow. The wicketkeeper batter will be turning 35 today on the 26th of September and there is no doubt he has been one of the best talents for England in international cricket who plays across the formats.

Bairstow has had an incredible career so far, having played 287 matches and scored over 11500 runs throughout his 13-year career. Bairstow is known for his aggressive style of batting and his ability to float in the batting lineup. He has played some wonderful knocks for his team in international cricket. This is enough to celebrate this amazing England cricketer.

The first England keeper to be a two-time World champion

The England team might have had some incredible seasons throughout the years, but there have not been many ICC trophies in their cabinet. However, Bairstow is the first English wicketkeeper to be a part of a World Champion England side twice.

Bairstow was part of two of the best moments of English cricket where they won the 2019 ODI World Cup and 2022 T20 World Cup. Bairstow was also one of England’s highest run scorers in the 2019 ODI World Cup as well.

These achievements are enough to put Bairstow among one of the most talented England cricketers who has played some incredible knocks. We as fans of the game would want to give the best wishes to one of the best modern batters England have produced and has impacted England cricket a lot throughout his entire cricket, especially on this auspicious day when the World was introduced to the swashbuckling wicket-keeper batter.
