
Faf Du Plessis was born July 13 in 1984 in South Africa’s Pretoria. He was one of the best all-format cricketers for South Africa and led them well for a fairly long time in the second half of the 2010s.
Du Plessis has been part of multiple franchise-based leagues like the CPL, IPL, MLC, SA20, BBL, and Men’s Hundred and represented renowned teams such as Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Chennai Super Kings, Joburg Super Kings, Texas Super Kings, and so on. In his very first series against Australia, he played a key role in the middle order and helped South Africa to win the series in 2011/12.
Du Plessis was arguably the best South African batter in ODIs after AB de Villiers retired. To date, he is one of the best ODI players to have ever played for Proteas. du Plessis scored 5507 runs in 143 ODIs, with his runs coming at an impressive average of 47.47 and a strike rate of 88.60, including 12 hundreds and 35 fifties.
However, T20 was his best format, in which he continues to be one of the greatest. Be it leagues or internationals, he has been one of the top performers going around the globe. In T20Is, he scored 1528 runs in 50 innings at an average of 35.53 and a strike rate of 134.38, including a hundred and 10 fifties. He is currently plying his trade at Major League Cricket franchise Texas Super Kings.
