The match was against the Rajasthan Royals and though the match did not go in favour of his team he still played an important knock and formed a decent partnership with Ravindra Jadeja to get his team out of trouble with CSK being 56-4 at one stage. Dhoni’s run-a-ball 28 was enough to get the team to 125 and give his side a chance in the game.

Though CSK did have the RR batters in trouble and Dhoni also took some sharp catches behind the stumps, the innings from Jos Buttler made sure Rajasthan won by 7 wickets in the end. Though he might have not got his team over the line the CSK skipper still led from the front and showed everyone that he was one of the most reliable players for the side.
