Over the years, there have been plenty of instances where batting orders have collapsed in a short span of time to be bundled out for a low score in Test cricket irrespective of the innings. This has majorly come due to some quality bowling done by the opposition.
Other than disciplined bowling, pitch conditions also play a big role. A minor part which also plays a role is quite a few soft dismissals coming via the courtesy of batters not playing the correct shot off a particular ball.
1) New Zealand: 26 all-out vs England (1955)

New Zealand were shot out for 26 in 27 overs in their second innings of the second Test of the two-match series at Eden Park. Apart from Bert Sutcliffe who scored 11 off 33, none of the batters registered a double-digit score.
Bob Appleyard was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors. His six overs costed only seven runs accompanied by four wickets. All five of Johnny Wardle’s overs were maiden. England ended up clinching victory by an innings and 46 runs.
2) West Indies: 27 all-out vs Australia (2025)

There were a total of seven ducks from West Indies’ run-chase of 204 in the final Test of the three-match series. The top six batters of the hosts contributed a meagre six runs to the total. Six leg-byes were conceded in 14.3 overs.
Mitchell Starc produced excellent figures reading 6/9 in 7.3 overs. This was his career-best innings haul which came in his 100th Test. Scott Boland (3/2 in two overs) became the first person to bag a hattrick in pink-ball Tests.
3) South Africa: 30 all-out vs England (1896)

England bagged a massive victory by 288 runs after South Africa were bowled out for only 30 while chasing 319 to win the series opener in Port Elizabeth. After a seven-wicket display in the first innings, George Lohmann snapped up eight in the Proteas’ second.
The right-arm medium pacer’s 15-wicket haul in the game (7/38 in 15.4 overs and 8/7 in 9.4 overs) turned out to be his career-best performance. South Africa’s team score of 30 came after they had already been dismissed for 93 in their first innings.
