IPL: Top 3 Highest Successful Chases by Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals (RR) have been a great franchise in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). They won the inaugural edition of the competition. However, after that, as of now, they have failed to add more titles to their name.

But, top performances from both the batting and bowling department have always come up for their fans. Over the years, RR have produced some breathtaking successful run chases while chasing mammoth totals on the board.  

Here are the top three successful chases by RR in the history of IPL:

197/5 vs Deccan Chargers (DC), 2012

This was the 20th match of IPL 2012 that took place in Jaipur. DC won the toss and opted to bat first. Then, they scored 196 runs for two wickets in 20 overs. In reply, RR chased down the target in 19.4 overs. Thus, they won the match by five wickets. Brad Hodge won the Player of the Match award for scoring 48* runs off 21 balls and taking one wicket for 13 runs in one over. Hodge smashed six fours and two sixes in his innings.

217/7 vs Deccan Chargers (DC), 2008

This was the ninth match of IPL 2008 that took place in Hyderabad. RR won the toss and opted to bowl first. DC scored 214 runs for five wickets in 20 overs. In reply, RR scored 217 runs for seven wickets in 19.5 overs. Thus, RR won the game by three wickets. Yusuf Pathan won the Player of the Match award for scoring 61 runs off 28 balls and taking two wickets for 20 runs. Pathan smashed four fours and six sixes in his innings.   

226/6 vs Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), 2020

This was the ninth match of IPL 2022 that took place in Sharjah. RR won the toss and opted to bowl first.  KXIP scored 223 runs for two wickets in 20 overs. In reply, RR chased down the target in 19.3 overs. Thus, they won the game by four wickets. Sanju Samson won the Player of the Match award for scoring 85 runs off 42 balls. Samson smashed four fours and seven sixes in his innings.
