Former IPL winners Rajasthan Royals head East to take on defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday. The Royals are coming into the game on the back of their loss to Mumbai Indians by 100 runs which has seen Riyan Parag become the second side to be eliminated.
It has been a season to forget for the Royals who began with two losses early in the season and then rebounded with wins over Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings. Just when it seemed like the Royals were getting their groove, Sanju Samson got injured. Three botched run-chases also killed any hopes that RR may have harbored about making it to the playoffs.
Here is the likely RR XI vs KKR for their IPL 2025 clash
Top order – Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi

With just a few matches left in the season, RR will want to end the campaign on a high. Yashasvi Jaiswal will want to use this as a chance to maintain his form ahead of the massive tour against England which begins in a month and half. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, will want to show the world that his century against Gujarat Titans wasn’t a flash in the pan and he has the talent and ability to play at the top level.
Middle Order – Nitish Rana, Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel

The shambolic batting display against MI notwithstanding, Riyan Parag and Nitish Rana have shown flashes of their brilliance at different points of the season. Riyan Parag will want to get back to his best and make use of thew starts that he has gotten with the bat and convert it into big one. Nitish Rana will be playing to keep his spot in RR ahead of the next season and will want to show his current side the value he brings to the table. Dhruv Jurel will be keen to show the selectors that he can fill the role of reserve wicketkeeper in the upcoming England tour.
Lower-order- Shimron Hetmyer, Jofra Archer, Maheeh Theekshana

One of the biggest problems for RR this season has been their lower-order which hasn’t fired with the bat. Shimron Hetmyer who has a reputation of being a tremendous striker of the ball failed to get going this season. Jofra Archer has done well for RR this season.
