Royal Challengers Bengaluru will look to build on their massive win against Sunrisers Hyderabad when they take on Gujarat Titans. The game will be played on Sunday afternoon at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. 

So far RCB have played nine games and has won two and lost 7 with their only other win coming against Punjab Kings. The team is currently bottom of the table and a win on Sunday with a huge margin could push them into the 8th place. 

Beating Gujarat Titans on their own home turf though can be tough for the three-time IPL finalists. Faf Du Plessis and his side know how dangerous the Titans can be after Shubman Gill’s century ended their hopes for a place in the playoffs in IPL 2023.

Opening Batters – Virat Kohli and Faf Du Plessis

Royal Challengers Bengaluru will bank heavily on their seasoned opening pair of Virat Kohli and Faf Du Plessis. The two have been in good form with the bat and have been giving their sides flying starts in the last few games. 

Virat Kohli will want to score big not only for the sake of his team but also to create a gap at the top of the run scoring charts. Faf Du Plessis too has been scoring crucial runs after having a slow start to the season. 

Middle order and wicket-keeper – Rajat Patidar, Mahipal Lomror and Dinesh Karthik 

The last few games have seen Rajat Patidar get back to his best scoring form and hit two successive half-centuries. The 30-year-old will hope to continue in the same vein of form and score big once again. Mahipal Lomror who has been given an extended run in the team will look to make it count and possibly play a match winning innings for his team. The role of Dinesh Karthik too will be important as the veteran star has been in good form with the bat during this season. 

All-rounder – Will Jacks and Cameron Green 

The introduction of Will Jacks into the RCB set-up in place of Glenn Maxwell seems to have worked well. His ability to hit the ball hard and bowl a few crucial overs has served RCB well so far in the few games he has been part of. Cameron Green has been steady with his performances with the bat and ball. The Aussie star scored a crucial 37 not out and picked 2 wickets to swing the game around in his favor. 

Fast bowlers –  Mohammed Siraj and Yash Dayal

The fast-bowling department is the one area where Royal Challengers Bengaluru have struggled greatly. In the game against SRH, Mohammed Siraj seemed to find his old form and delivered a brilliant showing. Yash Dayal also seems to be coming into the groove and putting in some good work. Lockie Ferguson will want to put behind the disappointment of the last few games to help his side win their next few games. 

Spinner – Karn Sharma 

Veteran Karn Sharma was the main difference maker with the ball in the game versus Sunrisers Hyderabad. The 36-year-old also took the key catch of Travis Head to dent the hosts’ chances of winning the game. Karn Sharma is a proven performer in the league and his expertise of picking wickets will come in handy for RCB in the coming games.
