Royal Challengers Bengaluru continue their ongoing IPL (Indian Premier League) 2024 campaign by taking on Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Both sides will lock horns in the 45th game of the tournament on Sunday, April 28.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru have had a forgettable season so far, having won just two of the nine games that the side has played so far. With four points to their name and a win in their previous clash, RCB will aim to maintain a winning run and register yet another win.

RCB will aim to open with Virat Kohli and skipper Faf du Plessis. Star batter Kohli needs no introduction. With 430 runs in nine games, Kohli’s the tournament’s highest run getter, and the current holder of the Orange Cap. The ace batter will be keen on continuing his form and posting a big total on the board.

Skipper Faf du Plessis has been in good spirits as well, proving to be a dependable batting partner for Kohli and a true veteran of the game. Du Plessis’ performance and resilience against GT could go a long way in earning RCB their third win of the season.

Middle Order: Rajat Patidar, Dinesh Karthik (WK)

RCB’s middle order could consist of the likes of Rajat Patidar and Dinesh Karthik. After a slow start to the tournament, Rajat Patidar has come into his own and has become an integral part of RCB’s squad. With a quickfire half century in his previous game, the side will aim to depend on Patidar’s services once more.

Veteran wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik could be another dependable part of RCB’s middle order. Defying all odds and his age, Karthik has been exceptional for RCB whenever the situation has arisen. His knock in the lower middle order could once again be crucial to the side.

All Rounders – Will Jacks, Cameron Green, Mahipal Lomror

With three all-rounders in the squad, Royal Challengers Bengaluru could trouble Gujarat Titans in the upcoming game. Will Jacks will aim to continue his form, and hope to impress with both the bat and the ball. With two wickets and 76 runs in four games, Jacks will aim to improve and amass some runs on the board.

Australian all-rounder Cameron Green would aim to have a similar impact as well. With 111 runs and six wickets in seven matches, Green has been an important part of RCB’s lineup, and he could be included once again against GT.

Mahipal Lomror could be the third all-rounder in RCB’s arsenal against Gujarat Titans. With 80 runs and no wickets in six games, Lomror has not made a significant impact for RCB in 2024 so far, however, the 24-year-old will hope that the same could change in the upcoming game.

Bowlers – Mohammed Siraj, Lockie Ferguson, Yash Dayal, Karn Sharma

As for the bowlers, Mohammed Siraj could spearhead the side’s bowling attack. With five wickets in eight games, Siraj has not been at his best for RCB in 2024. However, his sheer pace and experience could spell trouble for Gujarat Titans.

New Zealand’s Lockie Ferguson needs no introduction as well. With three games played and three wickets taken, Ferguson has only recently started featuring for Bengaluru. However, the lethal pacer has had an instant impact, and the side will hope that he can keep up his performances.

Yash Dayal could feature for the side once more. With eight wickets in eight games, Dayal has been quite effective with the ball, and his spell could be crucial for the side in their upcoming game and their quest to move up in the standings.

Karn Sharma could be the final player in RCB’s lineup against GT. With three wickets in three matches, Karn has been a sporadic addition to the side. However, his performances in the recent game could earn him a spot once again.
