Bangladesh has been grouped alongside some big teams like India, New Zealand, and Pakistan in the Champions Trophy 2025. The Asian side will start as underdogs in Group A in the CT 2025 given the strength of their opponents. The only chance for Bangladesh to win the tournament would be to hope their bowlers are at their best. Bangladesh does have one of the best bowling attacks in the tournament.
The Asian team was one of the semifinalists in the Champions Trophy 2017 the last time it was played in England. In over 7 and a half years, a lot of things have changed and Bangladesh are not the side they were in 2017. But some of the players who were a part of the CT 2017 team are still a part of the side. Some of the bowlers in the Bangladeshi attack can make a difference with their performances.
Here are the three Bangladeshi bowlers who could take the most wickets for their team in the Champions Trophy 2025:
3. Mustafizur Rahman

Mustafizur Rahman is arguably the greatest pacer produced by Bangladesh. The left-arm pacer had one of the greatest rookie seasons for a bowler in international cricket in 2015. While he is not the pacer he was at his prime, Fizz is still a force to reckon with. In Asian conditions, he has a good record in ODIs.
Mustafizur can swing the ball early in the innings and nail yorkers at the death. Fizz wasn’t effective a few years ago due to a lack of pace. As he has gained pace, Mustafizur is back to his best. With his variations like slower ones and cutters, Rahman will be key for Bangladesh in tough overs like the death and the middle overs phase.
2. Mehidy Hasan Miraz

Mehidy Hasan Miraz has slightly fallen down the radar as far as his bowling is concerned. In the last few years, he has not been at his best in terms of claiming wickets. However, much like Rahman, Miraz has a good record bowling in Asia. He knows to bowl well in conditions that offer some spin. He is an accurate spinner and can attack the batters.
By skill set, Miraz is mostly a defensive bowler who can hold one end up with miserly spells. However, if the batters try to take a risk and go after him, Mehidy can claim wickets. Hasan can be handy lower down the order as a batter. But bowling is his primary role and he would like to return to his best. Bangladesh needs him to be at his best in the CT 2025.
1. Taskin Ahmed

Taskin Ahmed is Bangladesh’s most improved player in the last 2-3 years. After getting a chance to work with Allan Donald, Ahmed tweaked his bowling style a bit and has been able to be a better version of himself. Taskin can operate at a good pace and hits the deck hard. He can gain a good seam movement and a bit of extra bounce from the surface.
Taskin has had a good record in ODIs in the last couple of seasons. Since 2023, he has 40 wickets in 24 innings at a bowling average of 24.85, at a bowling SR of 30.08, and an economy rate of 4.96. Taskin is a wicket-taking bowler and can dismiss some of the best batters in the world. Ahmed will be crucial for Bangladesh in CT 2025.
