Asia Cup 2025: Predicting India XI for match 2

The Asia Cup 2025 tournament got underway on September 9, 2025. India will clash with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai in match 2 of the tournament on September 10.

India has been placed in Group A with Pakistan, UAE, and Oman. They will next face Pakistan on September 14, also in Dubai, and then Oman on September 19, in Abu Dhabi. This match will be India’s first T20I match in seven months, as they last played a T20I match against England in February this year.

Here is the predicted India XI for match 2 of the Asia Cup 2025:

Top Order: Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill (VC), Suryakumar Yadav (C)

Abhishek Sharma had begun his India T20I career with a duck and a century against Zimbabwe. But he has become a brilliant opener with 535 runs in 17 games at a strike rate of 193.84 and has hit two centuries. Shubman Gill will return to the T20I fold. He has 578 runs with one century and three fifties in 21 matches. Suryakumar Yadav will bat at no. 3. He has excelled with 2598 runs in 83 games at a strike rate of 167.07 with four tons and 21 fifties.

Middle Order: Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel

Tilak Varma might occupy the no. 4 spot. He has a good record of 749 runs in 25 games at a strike rate of 155.07 with two centuries. Hardik Pandya gives all-round comfort with 1812 runs and 94 wickets in 114 T20Is. Axar Patel will bolster the lower-order hitting. He has 71 wickets in 71 matches and 535 runs.

Lower Order: Jitesh Sharma (WK), Kuldeep Yadav

Jitesh Sharma might pip Sanju Samson for the wicket-keeper’s slot. He has 100 runs in nine games at a strike rate of 147.05. Kuldeep Yadav has 69 wickets at an economy of 6.77 in 40 T20Is for India with a best of 5/17.

Bowlers: Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakaravarthy

Jasprit Bumrah has 89 wickets in 70 games at an economy of 6.27 and will lead the Indian pace attack. Arshdeep Singh provides the left-arm pace variety and is one wicket shy of 100 T20I scalps, with an economy of 8.29. Varun Chakaravarthy has roared back in T20Is and has 33 wickets in 18 games with a best of 5/17.
