3 reasons why Sai Sudharsan should get a chance in India’s T20I squad

3 reasons why Sai Sudharsan should get a chance in India's T20I squad

Sai Sudharshan has been in great form for Gujarat Titans in the early stages of the Indian Premier League 2025. In the first three matches of the season he has already scored 186 runs. While he has played a few white-ball games for the Indian team, he is not a mainstay for them. Given his performances in the IPL, many expect that he should be given a chance in India’s T20I side. Here, we look at why he should be given a chance by the selectors.

Here are the reasons why Sai Sudharsan should get a chance in India’s T20I squad

3. Ability to bat at any position

The Indian team has plenty of options for the opening position in T20I cricket at the moment. Sudharshan has been opening the batting for Gujarat Titans, but his skills can be handy at number three or number four as well. If he does get picked to play for India again, he might have to bat lower down the order.

2. Can adapt to different conditions

The 23-year-old has shown that he can bat in different conditions. He has the game to play slow and build partnerships, and he can also play attacking cricket when the conditions demand. This skill of his will make him a very strong contender to be a part of the Indian team.

1. Consistent performances

The young batter has shown great consistency in the early stages of the tournament. In the first two games of the season, he scored brilliant half-centuries. And then followed it up with another brilliant performance, scoring 49 and narrowly missing his third fifty.
