There is a record for every stat in cricket and the stat that we will discuss in this article is the most bizarre of all. Scoring a duck in a cricket match is the most horrible feeling for any player but there are some in the history of the game who have had to go through this feeling on many occasions. Let us take a look at the 3 players with the most ducks in Test cricket.
Courtney Walsh
Courtney Walsh – The king of tailenders. Of course, this title will be looked down upon by the West Indies fast bowling great but he will also admit that batting was not among his strong skillsets. The legendary pacer registered 43 ducks in 132 matches that he played in his Test career. Walsh has not had too many pleasant memories with the bat one that stands out is his crucial innings where he did not score any runs but stayed on the crease to assist Brian Lara in leading the side to a famous victory at Bridgetown by 1 wicket against the mighty Aussies.
Stuart Broad
A very recent name in this list. Stuart Broad comes second in terms of the number of ducks with 39 ducks to his name in Test cricket. Though Broad was a capable batter as he also had scored a century in the longest format. His highest individual score was 169 which clearly tells that he could swing the bat but unfortunately, he also gets a mention in this undesired list. Broad finished his career with more than 600 wickets to his name which is a huge milestone but the English great would have also loved to achieve more laurels with his batting skills as well.
Chris Martin
Bringing diversity into this list is a New Zealander. The former Kiwi fast-bowler Chris Martin also finds a place amongst the top 3 players with the most ducks in the history of Test cricket. Martin registered 36 ducks in 71 Test matches over his long international career. The former fast-bowler could not really contribute with his batting skills as much as he did with his bowling.
