Cricket is played for entertainment and some players do that exceedingly well. While competing on the field, a few players are experts in delivering hilarious moments to fans with their antics. Back in India’s tour of Australia in 2003-04, when Agarkar scored his first run against Australia after accumulating seven ducks in a row, he raised his bat which tickled many cricket fans.

Similarly, during the 1990s and 2000s, Inzamam-ul-Haq also got run out a lot of times in a funny manner and cricket fans still recall those moments to laugh and entertain themselves. Nowadays, things have changed as the advent of social media has helped cricketers’ supporters to follow them on social sites such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Now, their fans can get a dose of entertainment on their phones and laptops by following their profiles.

10. Shikhar Dhawan

Shikhar Dhawan is known for his aggressive batting style in international cricket. With his incredible batting skills, he has won a lot of games for India in the international circuit. These days however Dhawan is out of the national side due to his poor form. The 37-year-old is not just an excellent cricketer for India but also a pure entertainer in the team.

After completing catches successfully, he celebrates the wicket by slapping his thigh. His unique celebration style wins the heart of fans. On social media platforms, the southpaw’s supporters can find a lot of hilarious videos of his. In September 2021, during the second phase of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 14, the veteran shared a funny reel on Instagram in which he could be seen acting with Prithvi Shaw with a trending dialogue of an Indian TV serial.

In July 2023, he again shared a video that showed him shaking his feet on a popular South Indian song Leo Naa Ready. Reacting to the video, Irfan Pathan and Yuzvendra Chahal also dropped their comments and praised the stylish India opener.

Mohammad Rizwan, the Pakistan wicketkeeper batter, is active in his national side since 2015. The star Pakistan player has done an excellent job for his team so far in the international circuit. Standing behind the stumps, Rizwan not only assists his team to hunt wickets but also delivers some funny moments as well.

In March 2021, when Pakistan was locking horns with Australia in the home Test series, Rizwan and the Aussie top-order batter Marnus Labuschagne created a funny moment. During the practice session, both players strived to mimic Australia legend Steven Smith’s batting style.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shared the video of the incident and it received a lot of funny reactions. During the Asia Cup group match between India and Pakistan, Rizwan was spotted having some funny moments with India’s Hardik Pandya. The India all-rounder also wrapped his right hand around Rizwan’s neck.

Ishan Kishan is one of the most talented players in the Indian cricket team and the youngster is looking to reserve his spot in the team. Kishan is one of the jovial personalities in the Indian team. The youngster is spotted having funny moments on and off-field several times.

During the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, a video of Kishan and Gujarat Titans’ (GT) opener Shubman Gill went viral, in which the former was caught hugging the latter in a funny way. When the video of both players went viral, netizens couldn’t stop themselves from reacting to the clip.

Earlier, in February 2023, the 25-year-old also recreated a Roadies forever moment with Gill and Yuzvendra Chahal which received love from fans. In the first Test of India’s tour of the West Indies 2023, Kishan made his Test debut. Playing his first game, the wicketkeeper batter got involved in a funny banter with Gill that made many Indian cricket fans laugh.

Mark Wood is an essential part of England’s pace attack. Riding on his talent, the English side has pocketed many matches. The star pacer not only strengthens England’s bowling unit but also keeps the team’s ambience healthy with his jokes and funny antics. 

In 2022, when England toured the West Indies, a funny incident happened on Day 2 of the opening Test. On the field, when Joe Root, the then-England captain, called his players to assemble to chalk out a strategy against the opponents. All players came to Root except for Wood. The speedster was standing alone near the boundary. On missing out on the group, the paceman reacted hilariously to the incident. 

During the Ashes 2023, Ben Stokes came out to attend a press conference ahead of the fifth Test. As the England skipper sat to begin the press conference, the iconic ‘Barbie Girl’ started playing. Stokes found out it was his teammate Wood, who played a prank on him.

Joe Root is the best Test batter for England at the current time. Currently, he is the second-most successful batter for England in the longest format of the sport. Along with being an incredible player, Root is also a complete package of entertainment. On the field, he keeps on doing something that makes his supporters laugh.

In December 2022, England toured Pakistan for three Tests. On Day 3 of the first Test in Rawalpindi, Root shone the ball in the quirkiest way. The former England captain rubbed the ball over his teammate Jack Leach’s sweaty head. Root’s act attracted a lot of attention as it became a laugh-out-loud moment for his fans.

Root participated in IPL 2023 to serve 2022 runners-up Rajasthan Royals (RR). During the campaign, his team organised a party in which he was seen dancing with India spinner and his RR teammate Yuzvendra Chahal. The leg-break bowler credited his English colleague for choreographing the dance steps.

Hasan Ali isn’t a part of Pakistan’s cricket team nowadays. However, when he plays for the national side, he gives his best with the ball. His presence not only helps the Men in Green to pull off matches but also keeps the team’s environment healthy and funny. His trademark celebration is something that his fans are really fond of.

During Pakistan’s tour of Zimbabwe in 2018, Hasan clinched the wicket of Ryan Murray in the second One-Day International (ODI) in Bulawayo. Celebrating the wicket of the Zimbabwean player in his style, Hasan got hurt as he pulled his muscle in the neck area. This incident went viral on social media sites and netizens couldn’t hold their laugh to Hasan’s act.

In 2020, a video went viral that showed Hasan was seen shaking his leg on a street to live music played by some buskers through their instruments. Reacting to the pacer’s video, his fans showered praise on him.

Chris Gayle is still active in cricket, showing up in league cricket all over the world from time to time. In November 2021, he played his last international game for the West Indies against Australia in the 2021 T20 World Cup. He is yet to announce his international retirement but the star batter might hang up his boots anytime from all forms of the sport.

In his cricketing career, he gave 22 years to the West Indies team. While serving them, he made a lot of cheerful memories. Playing the match against England in the 2012 World Cup, Morgan left the crease before Gayle bowled a delivery. Warning the England southpaw, the West Indies stalwart did a funny gesture.

Following his side’s maiden T20 World Cup victory in 2012, Gayle went wild and performed an imitation of the horse-riding dance which got famous those days due to South Korean singer Psy’s popularity. There are plenty of incidents to recount when Gayle had fun on the field but in 2019, when the Indian team toured the Caribbean islands, Gayle and Kohli shook feet with each other during the first ODI in Guyana. Both players were teammates in Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) from 2011-17 and following this incident, many RCB supporters recalled their bonding.

David Warner is known for his fierce batting style on the field. With his fabulous batting skills, he has won a lot of games for the Australian cricket team. Warner has earned a lot of fans in India and Pakistan. He got a huge fan following not just because of his game but also his funny side.

One can find a lot of videos of the Aussie southpaw in which he could be spotted shaking legs on famous Indian songs. In 2020, Warner danced along with his wife Candice Warner to the famous Telugu song Buttabomma. In January 2022, he grooved to Allu Arjun’s blockbuster movie Pushpa’s song Srivalli.

Along with that, he also recreated Pushpa movie’s famous dialogue ‘Yevva Thaggede Le.’ Responding to Warner’s post, Allu Arjun wrote cheerfully “Warner… David Warner…Yeva Thaggede Le.” On the field, Warner had a hilarious moment with Pakistan’s Shaheen Shah Afridi in the third Test of Australia’s tour of Pakistan in 2021-22. Both players stood close to each other and started staring fiercely. For a moment, spectators thought an intense fight might occur between both players but when both players cracked up, fans and players also burst into laughter. All in all, Warner is one of the most funniest cricketers around.

Virat Kohli rules all forms of cricket with his sensational batting for India. In his 15-year career, the batting maestro has delivered a lot of heroics to the Indian team from his bat. He is not just a brilliant batter but also a person, who brings cheerfulness to the team with his presence.

Kohli is one of those players who is good-humoured and amiable. He loves to be in a jolly mood to entertain himself and others around him. Following the 2013 Champions Trophy triumph in the final, when the Indian team started celebrating the trophy win with the ‘Gangnam Style’ dance.

In 2023, the India veteran shared a video through his Instagram handle, in which he danced with a famous Norwegian dance troupe ‘Quick Style.’ He danced to Stereo Nation’s renowned song ‘Ishq.’ In 2016, Yuvraj Singh and Hazel Keech tied the knot. Kohli also showed up on the India legend’s wedding day and danced to some blockbuster Punjabi songs.

Yuzvendra Chahal is a vital part of the Indian cricket team in white-ball cricket. The veteran has shown his magic with the ball several times to help the Men in Blue win matches in ODIs and T20 Internationals (T20Is). In the current Indian squad, the spin wizard could be called the funniest among all.

On the field, he could be seen having fun with players from the opposite side and umpires as well. During India’s match against Sri Lanka in the 2019 World Cup, he was relaxing while lying down on the other side of the boundary as a 12th man. His chilling act got famous among social media users and they created a lot of memes out of it.

Taking memers’ creativity in a friendly way, Chahal celebrated his hat trick against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL 2022 in his iconic ‘lying pose.’ His banter with captain Rohit Sharma isn’t hidden from cricket fans. Back in 2017, Rohit interviewed Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav. During the conversation, Rohit asked Chahal “A number you would want to have on your contact list?”  Responding to Rohit, Chahal said The Rock (Dwayne Johnson, a Hollywood actor). The way the Haryana-born player mentioned The Rock’s name made Rohit and Kuldeep laugh out loud. In conclusion, Chahal is one of the funniest cricketing personalities in the world right now.
