3 Pakistan players to watch out for in their clash against Ireland in T20 World Cup 2024

Pakistan are gearing up for their final match of the T20 World Cup 2024. Having lost two of their three group-stage matches, the Men in Green are currently second in the Group A points table with two points. With the USA-Ireland match being a washout, Pakistan’s hopes of qualifying for the Super Eights also washed away.

The co-hosts USA qualified for the next round from Group A along with India. Even if Pakistan win their upcoming game against Ireland, they can only get four points, while the USA finished the campaign with five points. As an international cricketer, Mohammad Amir has had a respectable return. 2. Shaheen Afridi

There was a lot of talk about Pakistan’s pace attack before the tournament but they were not as lethal as expected. Left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah was considered the most dangerous of them, but he failed to threaten the opposition. The 24-year-old managed to take only two wickets in three matches. Afridi was the leading wicket-taker (7 scalps) in the IRE vs PAK three-match T20I series that took place earlier this year. Mohammad Rizwan is currently Pakistan’s top scorer with 93 runs at an average of 46.50 from three matches. His unbeaten 53 was crucial in their victory against Canada. He also batted well against India, but a careless shot led to his dismissal for 31 runs, which led to the team’s collapse. The opening batter is expected to lead the batting unit in the upcoming match as well. Notably, Rizwan was the highest run-scorer in the IRE vs PAK 2024 T20I series with 132 runs from three matches.
