Visiting India has got a victory in the last match of the series after they’ve sealed the series earlier. India rested four cricketers including captain Rohit Sharma in the last match. However, they did not have any problem winning. The visiting team led by Hardik Pandya has made history on the contrary.

Chasing India’s target of 189 runs hosts West Indies were bowled out for just 100 runs in 15.4 overs at Lauderhill, Florida on Sunday (August 7). As a result, the visitors won the fifth and final T20I match against the hosts by a huge margin of 88 runs.

Indian spinners Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravi Bishnoi took all the wickets of the Caribbeans. Also, for the first time in T20I cricket, the spinners have taken all ten wickets of the opponent team.

Bishnoi bowled 2.4 overs and snapped up 4 wickets for 16 runs. Kuldeep took 3 wickets at the cost of 12 runs in 4 overs. On the other hand, Axar took 3 wickets at the cost of 15 runs by bowling 3 overs.

Axar struck early in the Caribbean’s innings. Jason Holder (0), Shamarh Brooks (13), and Devon Thomas (10) departed one by one after not being able to cope with his spin. Kuldeep and Bishnoi shared the next four wickets. Nicholas Pooran scored 3 from 6 balls, Rovman Powell scored 9 runs from 13 balls, and returned to the dressing room. Keemo Paul did not get a chance to open the account of runs.

Dominic Drakes opened the account of runs but could not stay at the crease for long. He got back to the dressing room with 1 run from 2 balls. However, Shimron Hetmyer continued to fight alone, holding one end. He scored the fourth half-century of his T20I career.

After seeing his teammates getting undone cheaply, he finally had to leave the crease after playing an innings of 56 runs from 35 balls. 5 fours along with 4 sixes come from his bat. Bishnoi Showed him the way to the dressing room. With that, the innings of the Caribbean also stopped.

Earlier, Indian team captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided to bat first. Shreyas Iyer, Deepak Hooda, and Hardik played a major role in India getting close to two hundred runs.

Shreyas Iyer scored 64 off 40 balls for India. 2 sixes along with 8 fours came from his bat. Apart from this, Deepak Hooda played an innings of 38 runs off 25 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes. A whirlwind innings of 28 runs from 16 balls came from the bat of captain Hardik Pandya, he smashed 2 fours and a six. At the end of 20 overs, India lost 7 wickets and their collection stood at 188 runs.

Odean Smith took the maximum number of 3 wickets at the expense of 33 runs for the Caribbeans. Besides, Dominic Drakes, Hayden Walsh, and Jason Holder took 1 wicket each.

Hardik Pandya’s team won the 5-match T20I series by 4-1. Axar Patel was adjudged player of the match after taking the first 3 wickets to rock the West Indies. Besides, Arshdeep Singh who took 7 wickets with an average of 6.58 runs per over in 5 matches was elected Player of the Series.
