India will not go to play the Asia Cup to be held in Pakistan in 2023, after Jai Shah’s comments, Pakistan has already threatened not to play the World Cup in India. The war of words between the two countries is not stopping. Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram opened up about Jai Shah’s comments and warned that India cannot tell Pakistan how to play cricket. Akram said, “The Indian Cricket Board has said a big thing. India can never dictate how Pakistan will play cricket. After 10-15 years, playing cricket has been started in Pakistan. I am a former cricketer. I don’t know what is happening in politics. But should keep in touch.”
Akram also said, “If you (Jay Shah) had something to say, then you could have spoken to the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board. You could have called a meeting of the Asian Council. You would have expressed your thoughts. It would have been discussed. Suddenly standing up, you can’t say that you won’t go to play in Pakistan. It should be remembered that the Council has given Pakistan the responsibility to organize the Asia Cup.”
It should be noted that earlier, Jai Shah said about not playing the Asia Cup in Pakistan, “We will not go to play in Pakistan. The Asia Cup can be held in a neutral country. It is the decision of the government whether the team will go to Pakistan or not. We will not comment on that. The 2023 Asia Cup will be held in a neutral country.”
